A PASSION, VOLUNTEERS, The GECP
The GECP (Groupe d’Etude pour les Chemins de fer de Provence) has set itself the task of safeguarding the railway heritage, promoting the Chemins de fer de Provence line, operating the Train des Pignes à Vapeur and organising heritage activities, while continually carrying out extensive historical research.
With more than 300 members and 45 volunteers, this association works for the restoration of old railway heritage and the refurbishment of old locomotives (some of which are historical monuments) for the pleasure of all, and also offers “steam” training courses while being involved in the integration of young people, welcomed in the framework of apprenticeship work camps.
